Laminated Black Magic or Colorized Smith Charts
$1.95
Your choice of two Smith Charts... The Black Magic design for admittance or the colorized expanded normalized impedance and admittance coordinates Smith Chart. Both are very crisp and detailed, laminated on heavy card stock, sized 8.5x11....you are paying for the cost of lamination and postage only with this product.

The Smith Chart was created by mapping the impedance coordinates from an open-ended rectangular grid into a finite circle. Impedance, however, is not the only way to specify the radio of voltage current. Admittance (Y) is the reciprocal of impedance. This reciprocal, Y=I/Z, is just the ratio of current to voltage. Impedance is sufficient for most problems, but admittance comes in very handy at times.
If you are a ham radio operator and into hands-on radio, then these Smith Charts are for you!
The Z and Y Smith Charts: Many problems in transmission lines are best worked out using a combination of Z and Y. Some parts of the problem are easiest working with Z, while others are easiest using Y. Engineers did the logical thing and printed both sets of coordinates on a single chart.
The colorized version is the admittance-impedance version of the Smith Chart and has Y-coordinates in red and Z-coordinates in blue so that a transmission line problem can be worked out with whatever set of coordinates work best. Adding components in series and parallel transforms an impedance along circles and arcs representing constance resistance, conductance, reactance and susceptance.
The admittance-only version of the Smith Chart is inverted from the impedance-only Smith Chart both horizontally and vertically about the center point.
If you are an electrical or electronics engineer specializing in radio frequencies (RF), you know how relevant this Smith Chart is to assist in solving problems with transmission lines and matching circuits. It's a GREAT problem solving aid! Order your Smith Chart Diagrams today!
